Response From The Boss

Earlier this week I told you about my impending trip to the upcoming Milwaukee Irish Fest and my intention to beat Milwaukee president Joe King like a cheap bodhran in their 5K Irish Fest run. Turns out Joe has something to say about all that. I warily turn over the controls of Bloggy Central to him:
"With the news of Uncle Bloggy’s planned trip to Milwaukee Irish Fest in August (20 days from today), the organizing committee in Milwaukee immediately set about planning for his arrival.

1. We notified local breweries MillerCoors, Lakefront, and Sprecher about the need to add third shifts for the next 20 days.

2. We notified the local hospital Uncle Bloggy would be competing in the Saturday morning Arthritis Foundation 5K Run/Walk, and would most likely be stopping in for oxygen and an EKG.

3. We hid all the silverware.

Although Uncle Bloggy thinks he is going to beat me in the 5K run on Saturday, he could not be more wrong. His unfamiliarity with the streets of Milwaukee will play right into my hands as I radio ahead to my team and have a couple of strategically located directional signs “changed”. I figure he will be back before the Mass on Sunday morning at 9:30. Besides, I am under strict doctor’s orders not to perform any strenuous activity for the next 23 years.

Actually we are looking forward to all our friends from Kansas City showing up in Milwaukee August 13-16th. We have a global approach to our entertainment lineup this year as we have groups from Ireland, Germany, Scotland, Nova Scotia and the U.S. A couple of the bands are even going to play at the fabulous KC Irish Fest in Sept. (it’s only 44 days away you know). So if you want to put a little jig in your step before the Big KC Irishfest, come to Milwaukee in Aug. Details at irishfest.com. Uncle Bloggy said you can stay in his room."

Joe King, President
Milwaukee Irish Fest
Although I seldom agree with or believe anything Joe says, I will encourage all of you to make plans to head north for this amazing event. It's no accident that they're the best. It's always an education, always enlightening and absolutely positively always a good time.

Joe,

If you leave a beer on every street corner along the race route, a victory is assured. Uncle Bloggy has not self-restraint.

Yeah, but watch my time between beer stops. Like the wind, baby. Like the wind.
