You know when you look at the Irish Fest schedules and performer lists and there's that sentence that we always make sure we put in there, the one that says "subject to change"? Here's why we put that in there.

The McCabes, scheduled to perform at KCIF for a long overdue return engagement aren't going to be able to make it this time around. Boo, says the crowd! More than ably stepping in to those suddenly vacant schedule spots are Colorado's favorite Celtic band The Indulgers. Yay, says the crowd!

When you lose a band just 44 days out, it's a problem. Here's what an easy solution this was. When Irish Fest entertainment boss Dave Shaughnessy called me to let me know about the McCabes conflict, we had a very quick decision to make. Dave said we need a band with a lot of energy, a band that has the fire and power to hold down the challenging time slots that the McCabes had been slated for. The first band we both thought of? Kansas City Irish Fest alumni themselves, The Indulgers.
