The Old Ballgame

The World Series starts tonight of course, and of course for the 37th time in their 39 seasons, the once mighty Kansas City Royals will be watching it on TV.

Sigh. Just wait 'til next year.

At any rate, baseball and the Irish have a long and storied history as I've mentioned here and here and here.

So here's your official Kansas City Irish Fest World Series prediction: Boston in 6. Place your bets.*

*The Kansas City Irish Fest does not condone wagering on sporting events unless I'm winning.

What's a Colorado boy like you going against the Rockies? Do you cousins know about this?

Nothing against my beloved Colorado or my mountain cousins. But there's no way you sit on your asses for 8 days and still stay sharp, not to mention beat pitching like Boston has in Beckett and Schilling. Plus look at the scoring tear the Sox have been on. The Rockies streak is about to end. I didn't say I like it, but I think it's coming. Boston in 6.
