Meet The Staff

Alert readers will have noticed that most of our Meet The Staff features here follow a template. Four questions: tell us about yourself, what do you do at Irish Fest, how’d you get involved, and what do you like best. Not Woodward and Bernstein material, but they get to the salient points, I think.

I sent those questions to our staff sometime ago and most people chose not to answer for reasons I won’t speculate on, except that to say I suspect that more than a few involve the Internal Revenue Service and/or an exiled Nigerian prince. With some of those people, I respected their implied wishes and have not profiled them. Others...eh, not so much. I just posted stuff anyway. Witness Dave, Barb, Shannon, Barney and Sarah. Privacy, schmivacy.

In a category all by their lonesomes are the subjects of today’s Very Special Episode of Meet The Staff. No, they didn’t fill out their questionnaires. No, I can’t tell you what a great job they do with Irish Fest, because they’re new to their jobs with us. No, they didn’t ask to be profiled. And no, I don’t care. I don't have to, because they're stuck with me.

Meet the girls of the Reunion Area. My sisters Carol, Peggy, Jenny and my wife Jen. All answers guaranteed 100% made up by me.

Tell us a little about yourselves.

Carol: Well, I recently took a hiatus from my twin careers as an international supermodel and scout for the Royals to join Irish Fest and I’m super excited about it!
Peggy: I’m a wildly successful transplant surgeon and supermodel. I’ve taken a brief break from my preparations for the world’s first nostril transplant to work on Irish Fest.
Jenny: I am a full time coach for the 2016 USA Olympic swim team and the 2014 USA World Cup team, and a supermodel. It took a lot of work, but I’ve freed up some time to work on Irish Fest this year.
Jen: I’m a supermodel and Nobel Prize winning medical researcher, currently dividing my time between Stockholm, Prague and Brookside. Did I mention I’m a supermodel?

You did, thank you. Now tell me about your jobs at Irish Fest.

Carol: We are co-chairing the reunion area along with Kevin Bundy. We’ll be hosting families and businesses under the big reunion tents over the weekend.
Peggy: Yes, as single women, Carol and I certainly understand the importance of family. Yessiree, as single women, that’s something we really get. Being single and all...and, you know, not married and whatnot...yep.
Jenny: We just want to make sure all our reunion groups have fun. Lots. And tip. I mean, if they’re having fun. Which they will be. Did I mention we’ll take tips?
Jen: Think of us as the reunion hostesses. Or maybe reunion princesses. Ooh, queens, maybe. No wait...Empresses! Or is there something bigger than an empress? We’ll be that.

Well, okay. Now, how did you all come to volunteer to help run the Irish Fest reunion area?

Carol:
You said we couldn’t have free tickets any more unless we worked.
Peggy: Plus you said there’d be lots of cute Irish guys.
Jenny: Volunteered? You said we were getting paid! What’s this “volunteered” crap??
Jen: My pre-nup said I have to.

And finally, what do like best about Irish Fest?

Carol: The Fest President, a fair and wise man.
Peggy: Just the opportunity to be able to spend time with my brother. He has so much to teach us.
Jenny: Let me tell you what you can do with your “volunteering”, you cheap son a ...
Jen: All the cute Irish guys!

These cute Irish girls will be slaving away in the reunuion tents all weekend. If you're one of the lucky few groups who booked a space up there, be kind to them.

But Dan, you have more sisters, and a brother. They are supermodels too. Where are they volunteering?

I think someone should give you a brain transplant, as you have clearly lost your mind!

Very funny Danny. I like that fantasy world you live in. I do hope the Royals can spare me for the whole weekend.

I agree with your transplant surgeon sister Peggy. Is she single? I forgot this was in the pre nup. Very funny.

Not even sure how to comment on this one. I would say olympic and world cup coach would be a lot more accurate than supermodel, but that's just me. I can't wait to work the reunion area again. J.O. and O.J. had such a great time last year, we decided to do it again. I really do know that I volunteered, and I'm happy to do so, but about those tips.................:)
See you at the Fest!

Since this particular supermodel sister is risking death by flying in to the festival (at great personal expense, and with no water bottle), I shall be taking in the entertainment instead of sloshing around in the beer tent. But you all have fun!

Their beauty and intelligence are obvious. Which poses to questions.

1)Why are they really doing it?
2) With sisters like these how did you and Pat comee up so "short"
