It was such a busy week around the holiday, that we failed to mention some of the goings on at Irish Fest HQ. We had a revolving door of visiting dignitaries.
The St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee hosted a happy hour Wednesday night at Boulevard Brewery. The guest of honor was Vice Consul Tim Reilly, of the Consulate General of Ireland office in Chicago. Mr. Reilly was in town for the parade and took the time to meet with many members of the various Irish organizations in the city.
He was given an honorary position in the parade, and he got a front row view of how KC celebrates the holiday. And of course, we convinced him to return on Labor Day weekend for the 9th Annual KC Irish Fest.
At least we think we did. (Right Tim?!?)
