I'm happy to report that our spectacular Irish Fest mandolin has found a home, in faraway Glen Rock, NJ. Tim Driscoll is the lucky and smart buyer, and thanks to that purchase Irish Fest will be establishing a scholarship for young musicians to hone their craft at the Kansas City School of Irish Music.
Enormous, massive thanks to Mark Franzke who built and donated the mandolin, funded by an Irish Fest grant. You'll be hearing more from Mark come Irish Fest 2011. If you'd like him to custom build a mandolin or banjo for you, give me a shout and I'll put you in touch. Details on how to apply for that scholarship dough will be coming soon.
