Tickets are on sale now for the big scary Halloween-time Gaelic Storm show at the Uptown Theater here in Kansas City, sponsored by the Kansas City Irish Fest. The date is October 28th, which is a Thursday which as we all know is the new Friday. We'll be giving you a chance to win some tickets here next month through some ridiculous contest we haven't made up yet* but if I were you, honestly I wouldn't hang on to that option too tightly. What if you don't win, as let's face it, with limited numbers of tickets to give away, most of you won't? And what if that having been your whole ticket obtaining strategy, you then found yourself left out of a sold-out show, the biggest, best show of the autumn, a show with 100% more Steve Twigger than any other concert this year? There's you, standing outside like some forlorn puppy, gazing in at those wiser souls who got their tickets way back on the 14th of September. Nobody wants to see that. And even if you do eventually win tickets, then you can scalp the ones you bought back in September to a couple of those pathetic puppy people with their faces mashed up against the window.
So get those tickets now and then you can spend the rest of the next 6 weeks working on your Halloween costume to wear that night. I'm going as Pat Murphy. Told you it was going to be a scary night.
*I'm thinking about something like "Who can re-sod Uncle Bloggy's lawn the best."

Jaysus... someone needs to make a new 'gangsta' movie and put these 5 fine folks in it. What a look!
Murphy told me that look stems from the band's obsession with the TV program "Mad Men". I just think they're mad.
Wait a minute... we might be on to something here. What would GANGSTA TRAD actually sound like? I don't think it's been tried yet. Would they just be bitch-ass-rockin' versions of standard Reels like "Drag Her Around the Road" and "Push Her Off the Roof"?
