The Fiesta KC kicks off this evening at our Crown Center home and with it the inaugural use of the brand new fancy pants ramp that Irish Fest will also be using this year. If you're a tiny baby and ride around in a stroller, or a person of any age or size who rolls around on a wheelchair or if you just don't like stairs, you'll love this.
The new ramp replaces the wooden one provided to us by our friends at Walton Construction. That ramp served us well for years and we thank Walton for it.
Don't forget to come down to the Fiesta this weekend. I'll tell you, there's something about seeing the big white tents down there that just puts me in a festival mood. Can't wait for Labor Day.

Man... I am no structural engineer but I did build my own house and I know a thing or two about welding and that puppy just doesn't really look all that 'safe' to me. The legs on the higher sections look no more rigid than those funky fold-up card tables. How many people are actually rated to be on this thing AT THE SAME TIME? I would guess no more than a dozen and certainly not all of them at any one place on the ramp at the same time. Why doesn't the Crown Center just recognize the NEED for this thing at that location and just go ahead and pour the concrete?
Looks pretty nice to me, but yes Crown Center should probably build a permanent concrete ramp. I agree.
