No Repeat

Regular readers will recall that it was about this time last year that I catapulted to fame and fortune as an Award Winning Songwriter©. I was eager to repeat my win in the Danny Boy rewrite contest in 2010, but alas. Word comes from Foley's Bar in New York, sponsor of last year's competition that they're not repeating it. Instead, if anybody named Danny comes in the bar on March 1st, they get a free "Danny Boy" sandwich and a free shot of a new Irish whiskey called "Danny Boy". My disappointment knows no bounds. How am I supposed to go get my free sammy and whiskey clear out in New York? If any of you would like to fly me to New York for lunch on Monday, let me know. In the mean time, I'm writing Foley's a new verse of Danny Boy whether they like it or not.


Oh, Foley's Pub, I see you want to buy me lunch
Because I have a common Irish name
