It feels like autumn around here today. Cool, rainy, just a hint of a nip in the air. Which means summer and festival season winding down again. Winding down but not wound up yet. We're not giving up that easily.
The great Weston Irish Fest is just a short month and a short drive away. Featuring The Young Dubs, The Elders and a whole bunch more great performers, it's the perfect way to celebrate October's most important day. And of course at the end of this month, those lederhose-sporting funsters at Oktoberfest take over Crown Center for three days of sausage, tubas and racing pigs.
More on both of those events as they approach, including your annual list of ten reasons the Irish should attend Oktoberfest, in case you forgot the first and second ten. For now, keep that parka in the closet and mark your calendars. We're not letting go of festival summer just yet.

October's most important day? It's a tad early for Halloween!
Thank you, Martha dear. I was waiting for somebody to take that bait!
October's most important day is the 10th. Anybody have a guess why?
Um, could it be Uncle Bloggy's 100th Birthday????

Isn't Mrs. Bloggy's birthday in October as well? I believe the 22nd is fairly significant, too, as we will be celebrating 20 years of marriage!
