Volunteer registration has been open for a good week now, so I'm going to assume that you've all signed up for your first shift and are now shopping for your second. Good man yourself. So you know where would be a great place to pick up that next slot?
The Site Hosts
I'll be honest with you, I'm not not sure I'd make a good Site Host. Site hosts as a rule are nice, pleasant, outgoing people. They have good person-to-person skills. They're patient, kind, and of good humor and disposition. And if you think that sounds like me, then clearly we haven't met. But you know who it does sound like? You.
When Mr. and Mrs. Festus McFestie show up at Crown Center, you, new Site Host, will be there waiting. You'll have a smile nearly as bright as your signature gold Site Host t-shirt. You'll show them where they can hear their favorite band, nibble their favorite food, quaff their favorite brew. You'll help our wheelchair riding brothers and sisters navigate the ramp, as well as the stroller pushing mamas. You'll know all, answer all, and when people leave, you know who they'll remember ? Not me, friend. Not cranky old Uncle Bloggy. It will be your smiling face they'll see in their Irish Fest dreams. The Site Host. The apple cheeked, button nosed face of the Fest. Also, Site Hosts work for and with committee chairs Sarah Walsh and Amanda Kelly Dennis, who are what you see when you pick up the "Awesomeness" through "Babe" volume of the encyclopedia.
So, if I didn't already have a job and was a completely different personality type, I'd be a Site Host. As it is, you be a Site Host. And I'll be...appreciative.
Sign up right this damn minute.
