Not Too Early For This Kind Of Thing

The lovely and talented Debi Cox, a reader in Colorado, was kind enough to write to me today. I'll paraphrase her e-mail:
Regan, you idiot.

There are only two reasons I'd come to your lousy festival. One, to kick your ass. And two, for the great discounted hotel rates which include free festival tickets. So what's the deal? Are discount hotel rates available now? Were you ever going to get around to letting people know? And are you ready for me to give you the Rocky Mountain beat down you so richly deserve?

Regards,

Debi
Actually, she was much nicer than that but, you know, I read between the lines. However she did remind me that I've been lax in letting you know that our two on-site anchor hotels are ready and waiting to take your reservation for Irish Fest weekend. Stay at the Westin, as Debi likes to, right across the street from the festival grounds for only $106 per night. You'll be able to hear the music from your luxurious Westin Heavenly Bed ™, though we won't deliver beer up there*. Or stay just around the corner at the Hyatt for just $99 a night, where most of the bands and Irish Fest staff stay and Fest Club sessions rage in the bar until the wee hours. Either way, when the Irish Fest day begins, you've got tickets in your pocket and when the Irish Fest day ends, you have a short stroll to your room. So book your rooms now and let's start thing about warm Irish Fest nights instead of cold February days. Call the Westin at 816-474-4400 or the Hyatt at 816-421-1234.

And Debi, when you get here and come looking for me, I look like this:

Your better looking than the last time I saw you!

Scanlon, you're not fooling anybody with these "anonymous" comments.

will you check that link to the Hyatt? it's not letting me in. I know it could be user error but how hard is it to click on a link.

Should be working now.

Hi, Dan,
The link works, but I don't see a special Irish Fest rate anywhere on the Hyatt site. Am I doing something wrong?
BTW, your Arkansas fans are OK after last night's tornadoes.

Are my eyes getting bad? Danny you are starting to look a lot like my own sweet hubbie. Maybe you two are spending too much time together!

The Festival website says that those discounted rooms that include tickets are not available. Is that a message that was still let from last year?

Exactly, Jackie. That message is about to be updated. Both hotels are ready for you now.
