A Little Early for This Kind Of Thing

I had a dream last night. It was Irish Fest opening day. We had, for some reason, moved the entire festival into a ballroom of a Country Club Plaza area hotel. One ballroom. I was walking home to change clothes in the hours before we opened and a beat-up old station wagon with the windshield missing pulled up next to me. More accurately, they pulled up on to the sidewalk where I was walking and almost ran me down. Inside was a bunch of scruffy looking guys who informed me that they were a band called "Bad Celts" that had been hired to play the fest. "I never heard of you" I said. "Oh yeah, they said. Shaughnessy hired us a couple days ago. We're scheduled to go on at 10:30."

We had apparently neglected to book hotel rooms for bands, so these guys had to come to my house to get ready for their gig...which we'd scheduled for the last 30 minutes of the night. Mercifully, I woke up before getting to hear "Bad Celts" play.

I really need to find some balance in my life.

That reminds me of the Early Days of Brookside. We receive a call the the McCabes are arriving after traveling all night and their hotel rooms were not ready being it is 9:00 in the morning. I sent Molly and Spike to the house to find clean towels, unlock the doors and make breakfast if needed. So off they went, tidied up the house and started cooking bacon and setting out towels. The McCabes hung out at the hotel lobby and got their rooms. Molly and Spike brought bacon and toast sandwiches to the festival to the volunteers setting up. Sure had a bag full of fun with the McCabes.
