Today's birthday boy is none other than Irish Fest VP and president-elect Ed Follis, who is turning 72, 73, something like that. Ed, as you know, is the owner of the fertile mind from which the Brookside Irish Fest and by extension the Kansas City Irish Fest first sprung. You could reasonably call him the Father of Irish Fest. Or, due his advancing age, perhaps the Grandfather of Irish Fest might be more appropriate.
He's a father of three, including 2007's official Irish Fest baby, a rabid Royals fan, a founding board member and a truly quality guy, and we wish him the happiest of birthdays today.
