Roibeard Ó'Súilleabháin

In our short history, there have been three presidents of the Kansas City Irish Fest. Our current fearless leader, Ed Scanlon is approaching his first festival in office. Ed was preceded by some other guy, can't remember his name, who held the post from 2004-2006. But the guy at the beginning, the very first man at the helm back in 2003, our George O'Washington, was my friend Bob Sullivan.

Sully has since retired from active duty on the board of Irish Fest, though he continues to be an invaluable advisor and font of wisdom, knowledge, and B.S. to all of us. Bob will always be at the heart of what Irish Fest is all about. And today is his birthday.

Kindly take a minute out of your day or evening and lift a pint of Boulevard beer, real or imaginary, and wish a happy birthday to Sully. And Bob, we forgive you for that rain-out the year you were president.

Happy Birthday Bob! Your energy and vission is an inspiration to all the leaders of the Irish Fest that have followed you and those of us that are trying to fill those shoes currently. If I can do half the job that Sully has done I will consider myself a great success (Rain out exculed). Thanks Bob for all you have done and continue to do for the festival. We would not be here today if it was not for Bob Sullivan.

Happy Birthday!
Ed Scanlon
