So a few minutes ago I was listening to 2006/2007 KCIF artist John Spillane, as I am now as I type this, and I was thinking about how great his shows were last year at Irish Fest. I was thinking about how, in what I took as a great indicator of his talent, the back stage Green Room was empty during his shows, because all the other musicians came out to hear him play. I watched part of his Terrace Stage show with box player John Redmond of Cumasc, who smiled through the whole performance, occasionally muttering "brilliant...brilliant."
Anyway, so there I was listening to his music and thinking I should remind all of you to make sure you see John this year, Saturday at 6:30 and Sunday at noon thirty. So back I come to the old computer and what do I have waiting in the in-box but a batch of new promo photographs of none other than himself shot by Con Kelleher and forwarded on by John's agents. So here's one of those. And that reminder: don't miss John Spillane and all the great songs, some of them fierce depressing, that he wrote all by himself, start to finish, fair play to him.
