Ronan Reporting, Part 3

And speaking of Luka Bloom, Irish Fest director Ronan Collins was lucky enough to catch a show by Luka's brother Christy Moore on his recent trip back to Ireland. His review:

Musical Highlight #3
Christy Moore, June 23rd, Marquee, Cork Showgrounds, Cork

This was definitely THE musical highlight for. I've been lucky enough to see Christy Moore live about half a dozen times over the last 30 years or so, with Planxty in the '70s, Moving Hearts in the '80s, Solo in the '90s, and now playing with Declan Sinnott.

This show was magical. Christy still has the ability to delight and captivate an audience even in a large and ugly tent. Festers will be interested to note that he sang a great version of John Spillane's 'Magic Nights in the Lobby Bar'. He also played a song of Jimmy McCarthy's, one of Richard Thompson's and plenty of his own. A Christy Moore live show is not to be missed... alternatively if you can't catch him in person you could always buy his Live at the Point album!
