Volunteer Registration Starts Tomorrow!

On our brand new homepage, which should launch tomorrow, you'll see a place to click to volunteer. Do that. And when you do, your completed volunteer form will then be whisked magically to Erin and Amanda, our lovely volunteer coordinators. They will be responsible for assisting you as you join the KCIF community. Think of them as our own two person Ellis Island.

As a volunteer, you'll find that Amanda and Erin (and you will seldom see the two names, or the two women, separately) will become very important in your life, so I thought you might like to meet them.

Erin and Amanda, tell us a little about yourselves.
We are the sunshine twins. We have been filling people's lives with sunshine together since we met at Kuhn and Wittenborn advertising in 2001. We both work in the world of advertising and marketing and we like to spend summer evenings in the Hamptons, which happens to be Amanda’s screened-in porch (but it really feels like you’re on vacation).

Describe your job at the Kansas City Irish Fest for us.

We are in charge of finding more than 1,500 volunteers who are responsible for making the fest run. We think this is the best job at the festival and we really love it. If you are interested in volunteering, just go to the volunteer page and fill out the form!

How did you two get involved with KCIF?

Sunshine Twin # 2's (Erin) sister Shannon runs the hospitality for the bands. After the first fest, aka “the rain out,” Erin got to know the rest of the committee and was asked to join. She happily agreed on the condition that her Sunshine Twin (#1 - Amanda) could join her...the rest is history!

What do like best about the Fest?

We’re way beyond “liking” the Irish Fest. We LOVE it! How can we sum it into one paragraph?!?! Probably first and foremost are the awesome friends we have met and continue to meet each year. We have always said that festival weekend is the best weekend of the year. Somehow even after long days and late nights we find the energy to do it all again the next day. There is energy in the air that is impossible to describe and a spirit that creates an amazing environment and an incredible experience

Now with enthusiam like that, how can you not volunteer? So please, do. We need you. And do it right away, so you can be sure to get the job you want most.
