Here's The Pitch...

On Sunday afternoon during the Thistle and Shamrock program from 1:00-2:00, Irish Fest once again will have representatives on the air asking you to support Public Radio programming in Kansas City. Which you should really do. For one thing, our local NPR affiliate KCUR FM 89.3 is one of Irish Fest's oldest media partners. For another thing is one of the few places you'll hear Irish music on the radio–such as during the aforementioned Thistle and Shamrock. And for a third thing, twice a year some Irish Fest staffers give up a chunk of their weekend to do this. The least you could do is show them you care.

No amount is too small or too large and there are more ways to give than you can shake your shillelagh at. Myself, I'm a sustaining member which means a small donation magically slips out of my checking account every month and I never notice it. When you call in they'll tell you how easy supporting this great KC institution can be.

It's a family affair this weekend, with a trio of Scanlons manning the mics. Tune in and hear Ed, Barbara and Molly as they extoll the virtues of quality community supported radio.  Call in at 816-235-5287 or pledge online at www.kcur.org so they can read your name on the air.
