Irish WInterFest Returns!

It hasn't exactly been the most brutal winter here in Cowtown, it's true. But it still ain't exactly festival weather out there. It is however festival weather inside the Kansas City Irish Center. Beginning this coming Saturday, February 9th, Irish Winterfest returns for a second year at the Center in the lower level of Union Station. Warm and cozy and only $5, Winterfest brings you an whole day and night of great of music and dance on Saturday:

3:10 – 3:55 pm … Bob Reeder
4:15 – 5:00 pm … The Koke Sisters
5:00 – 5:30 pm … O’Riada McCarty Manning Dancers
5:30 – 6:15 pm … Calliope
6:15 – 6:45 pm … Driscoll School of Irish Dance
6:45 – 7:30 pm … Short Leaf
7:30 – 8:00 pm … O’Riada McCarty Manning Dancers
8:00 – 8:45 pm … Eddie Delahunt
8:45 – 9:15 pm … Driscoll School of Irish Dance
9:15 – 10:00 pm … $3 Band

Are you kidding me? All that for $5?? I know a little about the festival business and that's just crazy. Clearly the Irish Center is run by mentally unstable, dangerously out-of-touch-with-reality individuals. Happily, those are the funnest kind of people to hang out with, too. So come on down! I'll be there as well, but don't let that stop you.

Winterfest continues on Fridays after this weekend, too with shows on the 15th featuring Tullamore and the 22nd with Flannigan's Right Hook. More info, right here or call Nutty Nancy and Raving Renata at the Center, 816-474-3848. WInterfest is presented by the wonderful people at Kissick Construction and The Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund and sponsored by Boulevard Brewing, Central States Beverage and Guinness, a company that I believe makes a dark beer of some kind.
