Titanic

What a great evening at the annual Kansas City Irish Center gala. A big contingent of Irish Festers turned out for the festivities and if there was ever any doubt that Irish women are the most beautiful in the world and that Irish men look silly in tuxedos, it was put to rest down at Union Station last night. Steve Twigger and Patrick Murphy of KCIF 2012 headliners Gaelic Storm provided the entertainment, John and Marney Sherman were named the John J. Sullivan Foundation Humanitarians of the year and a grand time was had by all.

The evening began with a tour of the exhibit of Titanic artifacts. If you haven't seen it, go. It was amazing, heart breaking, spooky and fascinating. When you enter you're given a boarding pass bearing the name of an actual passenger on the ill fated ship and you find out at the end if you survived or perished in the icy waters. I'm sad to report that neither Mrs. Bloggy nor I made it.

Thank you to Nancy, Renata and everybody at the Irish Center who worked so hard to make last night such a wonderful event.
