Take Me Out To The Ball Game

On May 19th, which is a Thursday for those of you keeping score at home, the ladies of of the KC Irish Fest volunteer coordination committee and they'll helpers will be out at the ball park for the Royals annual Tourism Night. They'll be getting the word out about the fest, signing up volunteers, giving out free stuff, maybe eating a hot dog or two washed down by a cold Bloulevard beer.

I've been part of this event for the past three or four years and I can tell you this: it will rain on May 19th. And I'm not talking about spring sprinkles. I'm talking about a gullywasher. Because it ALWAYS rains on tourism night. Always.

But in case I'm wrong, as is often the case, you should go. For one thing, the boys in blue do not lose at home, so you'll see a win for the hometown nine. For another thing, those vol staffers, Erin, Liz and Sarah and Brandi are very nice and knowledgeable and will answer all your Irish Fest questions and maybe give you some of their peanuts and Cracker Jack, though you should stay away from their beer. And for one other other thing, there's special deals. Like so:

The first 10,000 fans will get a special KC Attractions Pack from the GKCAA (Greater Kansas City Attractions Association) with more than $200 in savings to Kansas City attractions. Before and during the game, head to the Outfield Experience where the GKCAA will offer booths featuring activities and information about local attractions. Plus, special attractions packages will be given away during the game.

Cash in on one of these exclusive offers:

Purchase a Hy-Vee Infield, Box or View seat and the KCCVA (Kansas City Convention And Visitors Association) will buy your second seat, while supplies last. Plus, you’ll get two free “Tourism Day at The K” t-shirts and “I Am Tourism” buttons with each purchase. (Seating for this offer is limited. T-shirts & buttons will be available for pick-up from the KCCVA booth at the game.)

Each ticket is loaded with $10 credit to use inside Kauffman Stadium (That’s a $108 total value). Seating for this offer is limited so reserve your seats today.
