The West's Awake* And So Am I

For reasons that are at present unclear to me, I seemed to have lost the ability to sleep. I hope it's temporary, or my tenuous grip on sanity will be.  But the upside is that it gives me that much more time to think about Irish Fest. Yay!

For instance last night I was thinking about the one place at Irish Fest where the swells dwell, the jet set don't get upset, and the elite meet to tap their feet. I'm talking about The Snug, where else? The reason the Snug was at the top of my insomnia-addled brain was a conversation I'd had last evening with one of the hard working Snug Sisters who run the joint about an idea she had for a big graphic banner to mask the view of the johns from her patrons. You know what we call that around here? Dedication. The relentless pursuit of perfection, as Irish Fest president Barney Walsh puts it.

If you haven't yet joined the Snug, I'll let you in on a little secret: you'd better hurry. When we launched it, we knew we'd have a few years of slow growth as people caught on to what a great deal The Snug is, what a great place it is, and what a perfect way to experience Irish Fest. We figured it would be a few years until it really took off. Well, the take off is complete. Last year The Snug was close to or at capacity all weekend. This year, only the prompt will get spots. So when Snug memberships go on sale later this spring, be ready.

What's your problem? I slept like an air traffic controller. Plenty of time to worry about Snug stuff - but it will be grand, we promise!

p.s. I like your rhymnes.

If I hear anything funnier than "I slept like an air traffic controller" any time soon, I'll be pretty surprised. Well played, madam. Well played.
