Murphy

I was thinking this morning about Mike Murphy, who passed away last night. I was on his show once, sort of. Mike, as you probably know if you live here in Cowtown, was endlessly fascinated by ghosts, aliens, and the supernatural in general. One Halloween a few years ago, the local paper had asked for readers to send in their true-life ghost stories. I'd submitted one and they'd published it. The morning the story was in the paper my buddy Gordie Grohmann called me at work and said "Murphy's talking about you on the radio." I tuned in just in time to hear him saying "I'll tell you, the story that this Regan character wrote, that just gives me chills!" So I called in and he put me on the air and excitedly grilled me about my haunting. He was like a little kid, in all the best ways. What a shame to lose him so close to his favorite day of the year. There'll be something missing at the parade this year for sure, without the old "Garbage Star."

Although, how appropriate....leave it to Mike to leave us right before the the big day. That is truly making a big exit! :)
