Post Yule

What a pleasant Christmas we had, both here at Irish Fest HQ and at Castle Blogula. Santa was very good to me, as a drawer full of new socks will attest. And Santa was very good to you too, with 2011 Irish Fest band bookings stacking up like cord wood outside our door. Band announcements will start in the new year, which as you know is just around the corner.

Speaking of which, don't forget to make your Irish New year plans for Friday evening. Some of our favorite Irish pubs here in Cowtown are planning festivities around the 6:00 PM local time countdown, when the new year comes to the old sod. The Gaf in Waldo, Kelly's in Westport, O'Dowd's on the Plaza and Raglan Road downtown make sure that wherever you are, boozy Irish people in funny hats are just around the corner. Best of all you can get your New Year's Eve bidness over early and get off the streets before all all those ne'r-do-wells and rif raf come out.

Hope you all had the merriest of Christmases and got exactly what you wanted in your stockings.
