Board Wrap Up 2

So as I said yesterday, two members of our board are term-limited off next week, Rory O'Connor, who we profiled here yesterday is one, and as you may have read in a couple way too kind comments on Rory's post, the other is me.

I'm the last of the original founding board members to step off, going all the way back to that famous breakfast table meeting where the Kansas City Irish Fest was born and back even further to both the Brookside and Westport Irish Fest before that. I've worked on every Irish Fest in Kansas City since 1999....16 of them all told, I think. Time for a little break.

Having said that, I'm not taking much of a break. I'll continue to be on staff. I'll continue to work on the entertainment committee. I'll continue to act as design chief. I'll serve on the advisory board. I'll be helping launch a brand new program soon that I'm very excited about. And I'll continue to two-finger-tap my way across the pages of Tir na Blog every day or so. What will I'll be giving up? Those bleary-eyed 7:00 AM meetings. A radio strapped to my hip Irish Fest weekend. Non-stop work every hour we're open. So, yeah, I'll be okay.

To my fellow board members past and present and to Keli, our invaluable, incredible employee, thank you for a wonderful 8 years. It's been my distinct honor to work with you.
