Going Once...

Bidding has begun on our Irish Fest mandolin. I hope you get it. Remember, it will be on display at the fest this weekend and will be played on stage a few times as well. You'll even be able to bid right there in the heritage tent. This beautiful hand made instrument you'll recall was funded by an Irish Fest grant and all proceeds from the sale go to establish a children's scholarship at the Kansas City School of Irish Music.

This mandolin is beautiful, no question. But it's no hang-on-the-wall piece. This thing is a player. Its daddy, luthier Mark Franzke gives it a work out here. Meet Mark and talk to him about his craft and maybe about building you a custom mandolin, banjo or other instrument this weekend in the Heritage tent.
