Back Slapping

Tomorrow night marks an important occasion on the KC Irish Fest calendar. It's our first full committee meeting, post-fest. What will it be like? Let's see, we had our biggest, best attended, most successful festival ever. We've had 3 weeks to rest and recover. The meeting's held in a brewery. I'll let your imagination take it from there.

There will be business to do, of course. The staff will be given all the official numbers that the board has seen already, so they'll all know officially how hard they rock. And we'll be handing out our annual staff awards. We give awards for male and female MVP (Most Valuable Paddy) and male and female Rookie Of The Year, assuming we have any rookie staff members in a particular year. Those winners get a fancy framed certificate, the admiration of their peers, and a free night in one of our home hotels during next year's Irish Fest, so it's no small deal. As usual with these sorts of things, I didn't win, but I know who did. I'll tell you tomorrow.
