Geography

After several people–good, well meaning people–yesterday made remarks and asked questions about our upcoming festival and in doing so made an all-too-common geographical misstatement, I was reminded of a long ago blog post that I think might bear repeating here, two weeks out.

To summarize: The Kansas City Irish Fest takes place in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri.

Missouri.

Thank you.

So it is not "our" Irish Festival as Kansas Citians(MO and KS)?Make up your mind.

I'm not saying everybody isn't welcome. I'm not saying that Irish Fest doesn't belong to citizens on both sides of the state line. I'm not saying anything against Kansas or Kansans. Some of my best friends are Kansans. All I'm saying is that our stages, every single one of them, happen to be in Missouri and it would be great if that was common knowledge and accurately described as such.
