When our music man, Dave Shaughnessy was up in Canada for the Celtic Colours Festival last fall, he was tasked with finding us new music to present here at Irish Fest. He came through with flying (Celtic) colours, as evidenced by today's second of two Canadian bookings, and the second family act in a day.
The KC Irish Fest presents for the first time Qristina & Quinn Bachand of Victoria, British Columbia. Just 18 and 13 years old, respectively, Q and Q Bachand have built an impressive roster of appearances, playing alongside such Celtic music luminaries as Ashley MacIsaac, The Battlefield Band, Lau, Lunasa, Liz Carroll & John Doyle, Buddy McMaster, Tiller’s Folly, Daniel Lapp, Tony McManus, Hugh Healy & Robin Nolan. And by all reports, they positively burned down the Celtic Colours stage.
So what did our man see at Cape Breton that convinced him that these young players needed to come part of the Kansas City Irish Fest family? It's all right here. Welcome Bachands! See you in KC in just 161 days.
