The Monday Report

If you're in Kansas City, as I hope most of you are, it's not only Monday but there's more snow and more ice and more cold here in the Winter That Wouldn't Die. I wish I had words of comfort to give. I can tell that the 2010 edition of the KC Irish Fest is a mere 193 days away, which is the average gestation period of an average bear. So maybe that helps.

Meanwhile we have lots going on here at HQ, aside from bear husbandry. Most noticably, or at least it will be most noticeably very soon, is a completely rejiggered website. When my buddy Laren Mahoney, Irish Fest director in charge of our interweb home gets through with it, you're going to find a prettier, easier to navigate, better site than we've ever had. Changes should be in place right around St. Patrick's Day.

Also in HQ news, our crack Irish Fest merchandise crew met recently to begin planning all the t-shirts, jackets, caps, hoodies and assorted other swag that we'll be offering in our tents this year. Look for some exciting new things from Ron, Margaret and crew. And if you have special requests, let us know those too.

Lastly, our volunteer committee has been hard at work simplifying and streamlining our volunteer sign up and check in process to make your service time with us the easiest, funnest, most enjoyable time it can be. Volunteer sign up will go live with much hoopla and fanfare soon, so start thinking about where that perfect spot for you might be.

And now...back to work. Where's that bear...?

Merchandise requests
- please keep coming the extended sizes, especially in ladies' gear
- would love some KCIF reusable totes (like what the grocery stores have)
- also, some KCIF soft can/bottle koozies
- kid-sized fest gear

WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE 3X-4X SIZES, THESE SIZES SEEM TO BE VERY HARD TO FIND IN THE PAST KC FESTIVALS. T-SHIRTS,HOODIES, JACKETS, ETC.

Let me preface this with: I'm not a large woman! Both the women's Irish Fest shirts I got were XL, but not only were they small to start with (normally wear a large), but they shrank! Can we get more realistic women's sizes?
