ShamRock on, Paddy.

Did you play Irish Guitar Hero at the fest this year? It was a huge hit for which I take full credit, being father to the genius kid who put the thing together. Don't get me wrong, I take credit for it but I play the game about as well as I perform open heart surgery. Luckily, that kid of mine, Tommy, is a master.

Now Tommy and Irish Guitar Hero (recently renamed "ShamRocker") are returning for an encore. On St. Patrick's Day, March 17th at the Irish Center's big Family Fair you'll be able to again channel your inner axeman and shred classic Celtic rockers like Whiskey In The Jar. Your solo on the stage in your mind is free, just like admission to the Family Fair. Other activities being planned for the day include face painting, decorating your own bowler hat, making paper Celtic art stained glass, planting a shamrock to take home, Irish balloon figures, Irish karaoke, music, storytelling, your name in Irish, reddest hair contest, scavenger hunt, workshops including Irish dance, penny whistle and bodhran. The Center will have the complete schedule up soon on their website.
