I was at the 2002 games in Salt Lake City where I saw Irish skier Paul Patrick Schwarzacher-Joyce race in the Men's Downhill Combined. He finished dead last, a full 15 seconds behind the gold after falling halfway down the course. There's never been a happier 53rd place finisher and we all cheered our heads off when he finally crossed the finish line. I love the Winter Olympics.
