Kick Off

Let me add one more thing to my very short list of things that don't suck about February (see below). It's the annual St. Patrick's Day season kick off show. This year the KC St. Patrick's Day paraders and our friends at the Ancient Order of Hibernians welcome back Irish Fest alum Derek Warfield and The Young Wolfe Tones.

The big show is scheduled for Friday February 19th at 7:00 PM at my old alma mater Redemptorist in the school gym. Tickets are $15.00 at the door and that covers all you drinks and snacks. Best deal this side of Irish Fest. Tickets will also be sold at Sheehan's 1412 Westport Rd., Browne's Irish Market 3300 Pennslyvania, Doherty & Sullivan 213 S.E. Main St. in Lee's Summit and Eddie Dealhunt's Cafe & at 4448 Bell St.

In addition to the great music, the parade committee will have announcements and awards and the AOH Padraig Pearse division will announce their Irishman of the Year. This is one of the great events of the Irish year and the official kick off to the St. Patrick's Day season. Don't miss it!
