Our buddies over at the Kansas City St. Patrick's Day Parade want your vote on the 2010 parade theme. What's that you say? You thought "St. Patrick's Day"
was a theme? No, no, no. See, each year the parade committee chooses a further theme for participants to interpret, to sort of narrow the focus a bit like. With the big day just scant months away now, the time for theme choosing has come. And you get to vote.
Your candidates:
- Irish Proverbs and Prose
- Going Green in Kansas City
- No Small Potatoes: A Tribute to the Wee Irish
Any of those float your currach? Then get on over to the parade's
swanky new website and be heard. You've only got until Thursday, so don't dawdle. I'm considering abstaining myself in protest of none of my suggested themes making the final three choices. I thought any one of my ideas would have made for a memorable parade day:
- You And What Army? A Tribute to Irish Brawls
- Green Glow The Valleys: The Irish in Nuclear Research
- Sure, We'll Have The One More: Buy Regan A Pint On St. Patrick's Day
That last one especially. Anyway, go on and vote. Their themes are pretty good too I guess.
