Policy Statement
It is the measured and carefully considered opinion of the board of directors of the Kansas City Irish Fest that we hate the New York Yankees. Thank you.
I have no idea why a blog posting about the Yankees winning the World Series turned into an opportunity for someone to leave an anonymous comment about you both. I personally have the greatest respect not only for your music, but also the work you both do in the community. I am very proud that the Kansas City Irish Fest has been able to provide grants to support causes that are very important to both of you. In addition, I greatly appreciate all of the help and support both of you have provided the Irish Fest over the years. I consider both of you personal friends and feel horrible that our blog was used as a vehicle to make the comments that were made.
Ed Follis, Thank you for your kind words and showing a lot of class. That is the kind of thing that will continue to make the KC IF the great event that it is and a huge credit to this wonderful city in which we live. -I too wish it was the Royals that played in the World Series and not the New York Yankees. My Mom is a huge fan of the Kansas City Royals. She is 93.
Hope all of you at the KC IF can make it to the Irish Music Awards in Weston Wednesday, Jan 27, 2010
Dan Regan, Thanks for all the kind things you have said on your blog about me and the Harp and Shamrock club in past posts. Thanks also for the tolerance you have shown in this issue. I believe in first amendments rights as much as you do, maybe more, after serving this country during the Viet Nam war. That's why I' m saying I don't hate the New York Yankees or anybody else, I just wish we had a better team.
Danny is a founder, past president, and creative director of the Kansas City Irish Fest. He lives in Kansas City, Missouri, the greatest city in America. He's authored Tir na Blog since 2006.

Thanks guys for the quick response in removing a rather odd angle to the baseball discussion.
Bob is way too talented for that dribble. I'll let the ovations from the people of Belfast and Derry speak for me.
I do appreciate the personal call it showed much more about your organization than anonymous sniper in a blog.
This matter is closed.

Bob and Rob, you're true gentlemen. Thank you for being so gracious.
See how much trouble those damn Yankees cause??
