Run Away

We have this little running club, some of us Irish Festers. We get together on Saturday mornings and...well, run. Next Saturday three of us, Irish Fest executive director Keli O'Neill Wenzel, Site Host committee chair Sarah Walsh and myself will be running in the Waddell and Reed Kansas City Marathon, only we're running the half marathon because we're not insane.

The race is desperately seeking volunteers to help out and since Irish Fest has such wonderful volunteers, I thought some of you might want to help out. You'll get free food and drink at the post race festival at Crown Center (sponsored by the Boulevard Brewing Company for those of you who like a beer at 9:00 AM on a Saturday), a chance to win great prizes like airline tickets and a free long sleeve t-shirt. Good stuff. And you'll get to cheer and wave as the three of us stumble by. And if one of you enterprising Irish Fest staffers wants to organize a group of 10 to volunteer under the Irish Fest banner the race will donate $100 to Irish Fest.
