THE DUNK CAN WAS JUST BARELY BIG ENOUGH FOR A COKE BOTTLE. DUH!
Yeah we definitely need a bigger dunk tank. I didn't get to see Ed Scanlon or Dan Regan take the plunge. They were on my schedule too. Very disappointing. ;)
I didn't get out of my area too much, but comments I've heard from friends & co-workers who went include: more porta-potties & more token booths esp. at the north end.
Hey Dan- Is it posted somewhere who won the raffles? I worked the raffle tickets and Maureen hasn't let me know yet who won. I have some family members who were curious about the results...Thanks!

Comments I heard were: needed "bigger sound" at the Boulevard Stage (especially for the Elders), more porta pottys, and of course, more Stout. All in all though, comments were positive. Heard kudos for the second sponsor area (except complaints that it didn't open until 6 and didn't have food), also kudos for the Snug, and many compliments for Old Bag of Nails fish and chips!

What worked for you?
- clean & plentiful port-a-potties
- token system for drinks
- extended (bigger) sizes of KCIF merchandise available
- extra space, lots of seats available at Boulevard Stage
- excellent free parking
What didn't?
- rainy weather during setup Friday. :(
What needs tweaking/adjusting/scrapping?
- volunteer check-in system – there were HUGE lines waiting to check in at peak times. There should be a better/faster way to get through the “process” and on with the fun! Maybe they could pull vols from other areas for an hour either side of shift change to boost manpower at peak times, or instead of having some of their staff work a block shift, have them come in for 1 hour at a time 3-5 times a day to just cover the busiest times.
What made you say "I can't believe you knuckleheads did that"?
- pertaining to volunteers, while free soft drinks during shifts and free t-shirts were advertised, friends of mine found ONLY regular Pepsi available, and when they went to try to get something different from a Bev tent, they were turned away because they had no volunteer shirt – because those had run out prior to them checking in for their Sunday afternoon shift. Sure, it shouldn’t be a big deal. Fine, people ought to volunteer out of their love for the KCIF. But it put a bad taste in their mouths, and it made me look bad, too, because they were volunteering in response to a personal plea from me! So, (1) order more shirts, and (2) keep that volunteer hospitality area STOCKED!

- Kiddie changing area complete w/ supplies
- separate area for toddlers/smaller kids’ inflatables vs. bigger kids
- Irish Guitar Hero – and similar activities for older kids/tweens/teens
- streaming music
- ramp from terrace level to main level – would be nice to have one from each side of that staircase so there could be a “permanent” up and down instead of having one-way traffic.
- having an additional sponsor area at the Boulevard Stage
Allow band sponsors of Boulevard Stage bands to be on the sponsor podium while their band is playing (ie before 6pm). There were some upset band sponsors who were kicked out of that area before they could get some photos of their sponsorship banner next to their band.
Oh yes, I would have to agree about improving the volunteer check in. Those folks on Saturday afternoon were either exhausted, clueless or just plain out of it...too many volunteers to check in and not enough help...it looked haphazard. Felt that way too.

I'm glad it's drink tokens rather thank drink tickets.
I missed last year, and I love the new location for the Boulevard stage. More room, and shade near the stage, which was sorely lacking when the stage was in the middle of an intersection.
