Milwaukee

The hard work continues up here...until 5:00 AM last night. Bands lined up for 2010, great chats with 2009 performers, loads of ideas borrowed, stolen, reinterpreted for K.C. If you've never been to this event, you really need to come up here. It's a juggernaut. 16 stages, something around half a mile from end to end. Crowds last night like nothing I've ever seen. Rory returned to Kansas City yesterday but Laren and I soldier on today.

Highlights so far musically: Salsa Celtica whose blend of Latin and Celtic rhythms works so beautifully I'm amazed more people aren't doing it. KCIF band Cara blew me away with their precision, passion and vocals that will bring tears to your eyes. Vishten, also playing for us in three weeks. I think I've seen them 8 or 9 time now and it just gets better. Tommy Sands. A standing ovation after every song. Screaming Orphans owned their crowd like few bands I've seen before. Gaelic Storm who own this festival.

We're headed back over in about 15 minutes. Get on Twitter for more of Laren's updates.

We were there until half four or so. Were you out on the deck? Can't believe I missed you! We'll give it another try tonight. Watching Slide right now. You're on next!
