Comhaltas In K.C.

Fans of traditional Irish music and dance, have we go a treat for you. Once again this fall, our good friends at The Celtic Fringe are presenting the traveling Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann show, bringing the best of Ireland's young trad players to Rockhurst High School's Rose Theater.

This is a one night only gig, so grab the Sharpie and mark that calendar. Wednesday, October 15th is the date. Tickets are $20 and are available at the door or at Sheehan's Irish Imports, The Irish Crystal Company, The Irish Museum and Cultural Center, Browne's Irish Market & Deli, Doherty & Sullivan's and The Celtic Ranch.

The Rose is a wonderful venue and refreshments will be available. This a really great event and an amazing of showcase of talent and Kansas City is lucky to have it. So go, why don't you? And while you're there, go ahead and join the Fringe. I was a charter member of this great organization back in 1994 and they've been responsible for some great times in the years since. They are the winningest organization in Kansas City St. Patrick's Day parade history and a great group of people altogether. The line from the Celtic Fringe and Irish Fest is a straight and bold one. Many past or current Fringer members hold leadership positions at KCIF. Fringers meet monthly at Charlie Hooper's bar in Brookside. Check them out before or after the Comhaltas show and see if you might want to get involved.
