Volunteer News #3

And for our last announcement of this Volunteer Day, a great deal for all you vols who love Irish music, which I'm going to go out on a limb and assume means pretty much all of you.

When you arrive at our volunteer check in tent to begin your shift this year, you'll have the opportunity to purchase a half price ticket for the 2008 Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann concert when it makes its Kansas City tour stop in October.

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is a worldwide organization based in Dublin and committed to the preservation and practice of traditional Irish music, singing, dance, and language. The Comhaltas show is a showcase of the very best of Ireland's young musicians, singers and dancers. It's an amazing display of talent and one that's worth every penny of the $20 cover change that the regular people will pay this fall. But you, as an Irish Fest volunteer will see that show for a mere ten bucks when you buy your ticket at the Irish Fest volunteer check in table.

So let's review. Volunteer to work at the Kansas City Irish Fest and get:
  • Free admission to the Fest.
  • A free t-shirt.
  • Free refreshments during your shift.
  • Entry in the volunteer raffle.
  • Half price Comhaltas tickets.
  • A chance to be named Volunteer Of The Year.
  • Membership in the Irish Fest family, the best group of people you'll ever work with.
Folks, if you don't have enough incentive to volunteer now, I don't think I can help you. Just do it.

Don't forget they also have the chance to win a five day trip to the Welk resort in Branson!

Right. That would be the aforementioned Volunteer Raffle for the trip described in Volunteer News #2.

DAN, WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO CHECKIN FOR VOLUNTEER DUTY?

Just outside the main entrance (outside the Crown Center shops) there'll be a tent with a big banner labeling it "Volunteer Check In". When you stop by there and give Daneil, our volunteer coordinator, your name, she'll give you your t-shirt )please wear it during your shift), your ticket and directions to your job location. Please show up at least 15 minutes before your shift is scheduled to begin. And thanks for volunteering!
