Since today is volunteer day and my good friend and fellow board member Rory O'Connor put in a plug Thursday volunteers. Here is my pitch:
Since Saturday evening Mass counts for Sunday and Rory's Thursday volunteer work counts for the festival, why don't we start what I have started years ago. Monday Make Up Mass for sleeping in on Sunday. Yep, show up on the grounds Monday morning and volunteer and the good Lord will think well of you as he does me when I show up Monday morning at St. E's.
Seriously, we do need help on Monday morning to help take down an pack away all the party supplies. Okay, now you say "I want a ticket and a T-Shirt and Pizza and bottled water." I would love to give you a ticket and pizza and all that, but I'll have to owe you one for 2009, because the party will be over. Every year on Monday while packing up there are families that walk out of the parking garage saying "Is it over?" Join the Monday take down crew and you too can stand there and laugh at them.
See you at the Festival and I'll see you bright and shiny on Monday 9/1/08.
