If you've made the colossal mistake of making out-of-town plans over Labor Day weekend, but still want to help out with Irish Fest, KCIF Director Rory O'Connor has a suggestion for you: Thursday.

Yes, we don't open the gates until 5:00 PM on Friday, but all that stuff that turns Crown Center Square into Kansas City's best festival doesn't just drop from the sky on Friday afternoon. We'll all be there, bright and early on Thursday morning and work all day building Irish Fest. And we'd love for you to join us. You have no idea how much we'd love it.

So before you head to the beach or the mountains or to see the world's largest ball of twist ties, come down and put in a shift with us. Just fill out the volunteer form, click on the Site Crew box and indicate in the comments box that you'd like to work Thursday. Then you'll have a cool Irish Fest volunteer t-shirt to wear while you're away from us. And all the fun we'll be having at Irish Fest. Because unlike you, we had the good sense to stay in Kansas City over Labor Day weekend. Man, what were you thinking?
