I'm behind. I started off giving you my Ten Things Not To Miss At Irish Fest and only got the first two done. But I'm not behind because I can't think of more things to do, it's because I've had too many things to do. So now that I'm caught up then, let's get caught up now. Follow all that?
7. Damo. I got a preview of Damien Dempsey here last May when he opened for The Swell Season -Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova from the film Once. And friends, we're in for a great show. Dempsey is the heir apparent in that great line of Irish singer song writers that includes Christy Moore, Luke Kelly and Luka Bloom. And what a voice. If Irish Fest had a roof, Damo could lift it off with one powerful note. We saw him in may with only another guitar. This weekend he brings his whole band. Whether he's performing his own compositions or reinterpreting a classic as he does on his new CD, being released today in the U.S., Dempsey is a massive talent. Whatever you do, don't miss this rare opportunity to see one of Ireland's biggest, fasting rising musical stars. Saturday at 7:00, Sunday at 4:00. And, as it happens, I think you'll see bodhran player Éamonn DeBarra of Slide, also playing here this weekend, also on my top ten list, in the video below.

That 'Polish girl' is not Polish. She is from the Czech Republic and her name is Marketa Irglova. Please show some respect other nationalities.
I stand corrected, and meant no disrespect. The section of my brain devoted to movie trivia isn't fully functional at 6:30 in the morning.
I am so excited to see him!! When we saw him in May he reminded me a bit of an Irish John Mayer...
Oh, lighten up Paddy!
Which Paddy are you referring to? Just so I know if I should lighten up or not.
The anonymous Paddy.
