Imagine Irish Fest without beer. Imagine it without people in green. Without music. Without curly headed dancers. Imagine Irish Fest without Eddie Delahunt.
One shudders at the thought of any of those nightmare scenarios. An Irish Fest in Brookside, Westport or Crown Center without Eddie Delahunt would be severely short on both the Irish and the fest. For my money, Eddie is Irish music in Kansas city. And today the auld fella, Mr. Irish Music, turns 50.
As luck would have it, the birthday boy will be working tonight, holding down his usual spot at O'Dowd's on the Plaza at 8:00. Please stop by and raise a glass to Himself. I'm sure a party will break out.
