We Win!

Saturday night the Kansas City St. Precipitation's...I mean St. Patrick's Day Parade committee presented their 2008 awards, and it was a big night for the Kansas City Irish Fest and its representative at the event, me. I felt like a pretty princess as I was called not once but twice to the dais to accept awards on behalf of Irish Fest, one an award in appreciation for our sponsorship of the parade and one in recognition of our first place win in the Organizations category. In that group, we beat out an organization called the International House Of Prayer, which would be an awesome name for a restaurant if you could work the word "pancakes" in there somewhere. In all seriousness, our friends at the parade put on a great evening and showed a continuation of the good humor they exhibited during the downpour that marked this year's St. Patrick's Day parade.
