Voting Assistance

I've been gently reminding you for some time now to get your votes in as the 2008 Visitors Choice Awards wrap up. This is the balloting in which out-of-town visitors named the Kansas City Irish Fest our town's best festival last year. Residents of the 5 county metropolitan area can't vote unfortunately, this being the "Visitors," choice, so a lot of you are left out. But I know you know people out of town. I know you have family out there in the elsewhere. So to make this as easy as possible, I'm providing a handy cut-and-paste, fill-in-the-blank e-mail you can send them to remind them to vote for Irish Fest. Everybody (mostly us) wins. You're welcome. Send this early and often. Voting ends when April does, on Wednesday.

I know it's been awhile since you heard from me, but I've been (busy, asleep, in rehab, abducted) lately. But I have been thinking about you, a whole lot. Like for instance when you were here last year for Irish Fest. Remember the fun we had? All the great (music, dancing, shopping, funnel cakes) we experienced? Remember how (friendly, good looking, nearly sober, unarmed) the staff and volunteers were? Remember how (clean, well organized, free of roaming packs of feral dogs) the grounds were? It truly is Kansas City's best festival or special event, wouldn't you agree? That's why you, since you live in the (big city, the sticks, the boonies, the half-way house) should cast your vote for Irish Fest in the Visitors' Choice Awards. It's so easy even (a monkey, a child, a child monkey, you) could do it! Just go to www.visitkc.com and click on the link that says "Visitors' Choice Awards". While you're there you can learn all kinds of interesting things about Kansas City and the great things we have to offer, like (barbeque, barbecue, BBQ, smoked meats) and get help in planning your next visit to (the heart of America, the spleen of the Midwest, the pancreas of Missouri) next Labor Day weekend. So do that today, while there's still (time, beer in the fridge, a commercial on) and cast your vote for the Kansas City Irish Fest as K.C.'s best fest! And don't forget to book your hotel room for Irish Fest weekend, because you can't stay at my house. I mean, we'd love to have you but we're having the house (painted, fumigated, exorcised, torn down) that weekend. Darn the luck.
