Fest News

In a largely bloodless coup today, Irish Fest director and treasurer Ronan Collins wrested power from Fest president Ed Scanlon in an early morning raid on the Irish Fest offices. Treasurer Collins, as it turns out, had been for some months channeling most of the Irish Fest funds into secret Swiss accounts and with literally hundreds of dollars on hand was able to bribe a majority vote to oust Scanlon in our morning board of directors meeting. Remaining directors were then required to swear a loyalty oath to Collins, who shall henceforth be known as Generalissimo Collins, Supreme Commander.

Following the vote, former president Scanlon was, we were informed, sent off to live at a farm. A sunny farm with lots of green fields and room to play, where he'll be lots happier, according to Generalissimo Collins, Supreme Commander. Visits to the farm are apparently not allowed.

Some changes in the Irish Fest layout, management and schedule are anticipated as a result of these changes.

I'm sure his wife will be please to be rid of him as well. I bet he is as big a pain in the arse around the house as he is at festival headquarters. The sunny farm, make that funny farm is the place for him.
