Don't Snow On My Parade

One down, two to go.

Dedicated representatives of the Kansas City Irish Fest marched proudly in yesterday's Brookside Warm-Up Parade, though calling it a "warm-up" of any kind strains credulity. We froze our shamrocks off. But a good crowd of spectators braved the Arctic chill and a fine time was had.

Part two of our three parade weekend takes place today as we head for the sunny southland of Martin City for their Irishpalooza Parade. If you're a member of the Irish Fest staff reading this in your warm cozy kitchen while enjoying a fresh baked scone and cup of tea, I have this to say to you: get your arse bundled up and out to Martin City like the rest of us. We had, oh let's be charitable and say "enthusiastic but limited participation" yesterday. I don't want you to feel guilty for staying home and warm while the rest of us march, but...okay, actually I do want you to feel guilty. Come on, people! This your Fest! Do your part. Come march with us!

KCIF is number 32 in today's parade, number 1 in your hearts. The parade starts at 2:00, and organizers of our entry Barney and Sarah Walsh ask that you be there by 1:30. And they mean all of you grey-shirt Irish Fest staffers. You know who you are. Don't make Sarah come after you.
