Normally I limit birthday announcements here to the Irish Fest staff, directors and officers and my dog (turned one on January 8th. Happy birthday, Dugan!) and important people like that. But today is a special day. One of Tir na Blog's most frequent and always crankiest commenters, Brian McCarthy, the Pride of The Southside is 40 today.
Brian, when he's not beaming his own brand of bright, warm sunlight into the Irish Fest blog is one of our longest tenured and hardest working volunteers, and though I'll deny writing this if you ask me, he's a very good friend and one of the best guys you're likely to meet. He's also the husband of the lovely Erin McCarthy, former Volunteer Coordinator here at KCIF and the father of past Official Baby of Irish Fest, Miss Molly McCarthy.
So happy fortieth, McCarthy. And at least 40 more. Now, make with the snarky comments.
